Quarter Mile and Gymkhana
Wow!!!!! Let me tell you we had fun!
Everyone arrived early around 9 am to avoid the crowds, the irony being is that there were no crowds even at the end of the day. I had met Jaco at the Total petrol station at 8:20 am, sorry for the miss direction for all those of you who thought we were meeting at a Caltex. But since everyone else met us at Killarney..... no major loss.
The people there was Shane, Jaco, Gregg, myself and one of Gregg's mates (sorry I forgot his
name) along with Shane's and my girl friends.
The day was cool so, perfect for drag racing but the best was the Gymkhana!!!!!!! Gregg I don't know why you left so early you miss the best part.
The best audi quarter mile times were as follows:
1st Shane (S2) 15.00 sec
2nd Chris (S3 165kw) 15.19 sec
3rd Gregg (1.8T) 16.54 sec (I think)
Unfortunately Jaco did not race because he thought he had to meet his girlfriend and her Dad early that morning.....
pity bro.
Gregg, your times were not typical of a 1.8T especially a 126kW A3. I believe the constant use of the 97 unleaded petrol has blocked your injectors. You must clean them out with Wynn injector cleaner.
The Gymkhana event was by far the most fun! There were two lanes on the course which you had to do each lane at least once.
Gymkhana times were as follows
1st Chris (S3 165kW) RHL 1m 22.18, LHL 1m 23.30
2nd Shane (S2) RHL 1m 33.8, LHL 1m 23.80
Pity the rest of you guys miss the Gymkhana.
By the by, two of the Audi club members Won in there classes. This was the A class ( i.e. the top class) What happened was you were awarded points for whatever position you came in both the quarter mile and the Gymkhana. Thus:
4th place went to Chris (S3 165kW)
5th place went to Shane (S2)
Many thanks to Jaco for taking the pictures.
