What could have been the most attended event so far, with bookings for 26 people, tuned out to be far less attended than we expected with only 14 people showing up.
Some came without partners, Arno send me an SMS saying that he could not come, having worked the whole night, Liza had already sent e-mail, a few days prior, therefore was not  part of the 26 booked. We appreciate Liza's and Arno's thoughtfulness. As for the other four members with partners, thus eight altogether, in future please have the decency to advise us a few days in advance of your cancellation. It certainly does not look for the club towards the host and considering the work Committee members go through to organise these events, it is, to say the least, disappointing.

Nevertheless, we still had a very good time. First time members to participate to a club event were Stefo, with his brand new stunning Imola Yellow S3/165 kW (his second S3 so far), Ryan with his silver TT Roadster, a stunning looking car too, Hugh with his company's Atlas grey A4 2.0 and Micky with her husband in her A4 3.0 (Silver - of course!).
Julian, whose S3 is still not ready, came in his brother's car, a VW Citi Golf, which looks very nice BTW.... We are sure Julian will appreciate his S3 even more when he gets it back.
Other than those mentioned above, we had Philip in his silver S6, Alan in his silver TT, Nick in his silver S3 (I suppose one day the club will have to have a "silver-only" chapter ) and myself in my Nemo blue S6, some with partners, some without.

By 9 o'clock everyone was there, however we waited until 9.30 for the absentees before we started having breakfast. The venue and the breakfast were ok. Hugo's place is a much nicer venue, hence I don't think they will see us too often at the Hertford.

As usual there was much Audi talk, however this time a new topic was much discussed; laser speed traps and camera speed traps. Of course the Laser Echo laser jammer and number plates which the cameras cannot pick-up, where part of that topic.

By 12 pm we all left our own ways. Many thanks to Ryan who phoned me on the way back, telling me about a road block ahead. His call allowed me to stop and fit my rear number plate, which for some unknown, reason was missing.

As usual, the company was excellent. The conversations kept flowing, non stop for the three hours we were together, and even though this was not the greatest breakfast we have had, in terms of food, venue and number of participants, it was nonetheless a very nice and worthwhile meeting.

Many thanks to the participants and in particular to Philip for taking the pictures.

Let's hope that the Christmas lunch at Hugo's restaurant on 23rd November, will attract more participants and those who book, will actually keep their bookings, or at least, if they really have to,  cancel in advance.... Please note that after the Christmas lunch there will be a two or three months break, as there will be no meetings in December 2002 and January 2003.
