Picnic Day - 28th March 2010

The Audi Club of South Africa had a picnic day with family and friends to enjoy the last few days of summer at Hennops Pride Park.

The day started at 11:00 and a few of the Audi's had had their beauty treatment to ensure a spot in the concourse competition. A collection of classic and new cars were brought to the picnic, ranging from an 80's coupe all the way through to a 2010 A3. A few new faces arrived at the picnic and of course some of the old and familiar faces.
At 12:30 when concourse was about to start (after Darren and Ryan did the final touches on their cars) a rainstorm descended. Needless to say, the rain created havoc for those with beautified cars, and the committee decided to be cancel the competition due to unforeseen weather circumstances. Members will still be able to show off their cleaning skills and compete for the great Sonax gift pack at the next event, which will be communicated soon.
A group of members decided to stay and wait for the rain to pass and a brave member even kept his family's fire going in the rain! The sun eventually returned and the rest of the afternoon was spent by the remaining group relaxing underneath the trees, enjoying pleasant weather and company.
